Sweet and Sour Chicken
Ingredients
300 grams boneless chicken
1 egg
1 capsicum
1 tomato
1 spring onion
3 pineapple rings
½ cup water
1 tsp garlic paste
½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp corn flour
4 tbsp tomato ketchup
4 tbsp white vinegar
4 tbsp oil
1 ½ tbsp corn flour
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Method
Slice 300 grams chicken. Add a beaten egg, 2 tbsp plain flour, 2 tbsp corn flour, salt to taste and ½ tsp black pepper and mix. Deep fry chicken slices in hot oil. In a pan, heat some oil and sauté 1 tsp garlic paste. When garlic paste begins to change color, add chopped capsicum, tomato, spring onion, onion, pineapple, salt to taste, chicken and water and stir together for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add 4 tbsp tomato ketchup, 4 tbsp white vinegar, 2 tbsp sugar and remaining spices and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Then add ½ cup water and bring to a boil. When water begins to boil, thicken the mixture with 1 ½ tbsp corn flour. Stir together for another couple of minutes and serve hot Sweet and Sour Chicken.
